Father’s Day! Pickling, ferments, cooking, curing, drying

@ The Duvall Food Forest
26524 NE Cherry Valley Rd. Duvall, WA 98019

with special guest teacher Steve Cure

This class is all about food preparation! We’ve already dove into local history and ecology - so today is all about food prep and preservation! We’re going to try recipes for pickling, demo and learn about lactofermentation (or a quick salt ferment), curing and drying to make food shelf stable, and get a hands-on demo for making sausage with local foodie and cook Steve Cure.

Come ready to taste test and sample various recipes for meat, jerky, jellies, soup, or more mystery recipes! Bring your hunger and sense of adventure!

Please bring:

  1. Wear clothes you don’t mind getting a little dirty

  2. A chair or blanket to sit on (optional if you prefer the picnic tables and stumps around the firepit)

  3. Snacks to roast over the fire

  4. A tea cup or thermos
