Who is Home Scouts for?
Families with members of all ages, couples without children who want to get outdoors, grandparents without kids around who want to spend time with younger generations (and vise versa), friends and acquaintances, gaggles of teenagers, young parents, widows and widowers, single people who want to build community, nature nerds who want to meet other nature nerds, and relations of all kinds are welcome at this program! If you want to connect with nature and community of all ages: welcome.
Who is Home Scouts not for?
Home Scouts is not for people who don’t like learning with all ages in a dynamic and flexible atmosphere. (This includes anyone at a life stage where age segregation is ideal for their situation). We are not a good place for ageist conversation or limiting beliefs around various generations. It’s not for people not open to trying new things or goofy and wild activities. If you don’t like helping people, being human, or building healthy relationships… well, you are welcome to join us - but expect your beliefs to be challenged. ;)
Home Scouts Mission + Intentions
Home Scouts is on a mission to heal the divide between generations. Between technology, disconnection from nature, age segregation, societal pressures, and forgetting the stories of our ancestors, it seems we’ve understood each other less and less over the years. Quite simply, we need more intentional space for healing this divide.
The intention of Home Scouts is to join the wave of reconnection that so many are working to create for our descendants. Reconnection to nature and natural cycles, a sense of place, self trust, belonging in family and community, personal meaning, and feeling at home in your body and environment. All ages and relations are welcome to join us on this journey toward reconnection.

Why use a sliding scale model?
I believe nature and community connection are a right, not a privilege, so no one will be turned away for lack of funds to join Home Scouts (email HomeBodyStewardship@gmail.com for scholarship options). Because there is a cost to event space rentals, facilitation and guest teacher cost, and material cost, I offer a sliding scale option so a ticket can feel accessible for multiple budgets, and still feel like a fair exchange of resources for putting on the program.
